Barefoot Amelia Beach Rentals isn’t just our job—it’s a reflection of our love for this island. Jenny grew up here, and Matt is from nearby Jacksonville. After 7 years in Atlanta, we felt the pull back to the coast—where we could pour our energy into something fulfilling while still embracing the island’s way of life. Now, we’re lucky to raise our two kids, Miles and Madelyn, here, along with our beach-loving dog, Duke. This is home, and we love sharing it with others.
We created Barefoot Amelia to offer more than just a place to stay. Our beachfront rentals are designed to feel like a retreat—well-appointed spaces with thoughtfully designed interiors, carefully chosen details, and all the little touches that make relaxing easy. We’re hands-on in overseeing our homes, working closely with our team to maintain high standards, create welcoming spaces, and ensure every guest has a seamless stay.

What types of condos are available at Amelia Surf & Racquet Club?
We offer a curated collection of one, two, and three-bedroom oceanfront condos—each featuring private balconies, full kitchens, and effortless access to all Surf & Racquet Club amenities.
How close is the resort to the beach?
The resort offers direct beach access via two private boardwalks—just steps from your condo to the sand.
Are the tennis courts available to all guests?
Yes, all guests have access to four Har-Tru clay courts. Two are lighted for evening play, and private lessons can be arranged with our on-site tennis pro.
Why book direct?
Our nightly rates and cleaning fees are the same across our direct booking website, Airbnb, and VRBO. Airbnb and VRBO charge additional fees on every reservation – booking direct on our website will save you from paying those fees.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in Time: The check-in time is 4pm. We do our best to allow early check-ins, but it depends on the cleaning schedule.
Check-out Time: The check-out time is 11am. We generally cannot offer late check-outs.
Are linens, kitchen supplies & housekeeping supplies provided?
All of our properties are outfitted with linens, bath towels, and beach towels. Our kitchens are well-stocked with pots, pans, dishes, toasters, and cooking utensils. The kitchens are generally stocked with everything needed to prepare most meals, but you may want to bring any specialty items that you require (e.g., air fryer, waffle maker, etc.).
We provide a starter supply of housekeeping supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, dish soap, basic toiletries, K-Cups, and trash bags. Any additional housekeeping supplies needed during your stay are your responsibility.
Are pets allowed?
No. The entire Surf & Racquet Club complex is a pet‑free community and does not allow pets of any kind. However, many of our other Amelia Island properties outside of Surf & Racquet are dog friendly. To explore pet‑friendly options, please click here.
Are Pack ‘n Plays provided?
All of our rentals are equipped with one Pack ‘n Play crib.
How many parking spots are provided?
Each condo is allocated two parking spaces within Surf & Racquet’s gated lot. Parking is not assigned, so guests may park in any available space during their stay.
What beach equipment is provided?
We provide beach towels but do not supply beach chairs—though previous guests may leave some behind. For rentals, Riptide Watersports and The Beach Store offer chairs, bikes, and other beach gear. Plus, you can save 10% on rentals at Riptide Watersports’ website with the code BAREFOOT.
What is the cancellation policy?
100% Refund: up to 60 days prior to check-in
50% Refund: up to 30 days prior to check-in
No Refund: less than 30 days prior to check-in
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance as it is the best way to protect yourself against unexpected travel delays, weather, work issues, and family emergencies.

What is the minimum age to book?
The minimum age to book is 25 years old and someone over 25 must be staying at the property. We occasionally make exceptions based on the situation with prior approval (e.g., a younger married couple). We will not make exceptions for college groups, spring breakers, etc.
When are the rental payments due?
50% of the total reservation amount is due at booking and the remaining 50% is automatically charged 30 days prior to check-in. If the reservation is made within 30 days of the check-in date then the full amount will be due at booking.
What is the severe weather policy?
We do not refund rents or deposits lost due to canceled or shortened stays because of weather. We do not allow cancellations, refunds, or rescheduling due to an impending storm or hurricane, hurricane watch or warning. We do not allow cancellations, refunds, or rescheduling due to cancelled flights, closed travel routes, or travel delays and interruptions. Early departures due to inclement weather do not warrant refund of rent or deposit.
In the event of a Mandatory Hurricane Evacuation directly impacting the location of the property you have rented by a local or government authority, we will issue a monetary in-house credit for the days of your stay which fall under the Mandatory Hurricane Evacuation. The credit is valid for 6 months from issuance and may be applied toward any available date at any of our properties. If the cost of the new stay exceeds the credit amount, the guest is responsible for any additional amount due. The credit will not be given in the form of a refund.
We strongly suggest purchasing travel insurance for stays during the hurricane season (June – November).
